Michael Jackson: Three Years Since Death (8/29/1958 – 06/25/2009)

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 3 years already! I love how everybody still has their favorite MJ song, or a song that brings back memories. What I loved about Michael Jackson the most was his love for people and compassion for the world in general. I feel that 1 thing me and Michael Jackson have in common is our passion to change social and societal issues. He used his music to ask the world questions that pertained to the state of humanity and challenged us to make a difference.  Some of the songs that reflected this passion are Earth Song, Man in the Mirror and They Don’t Care About Us. He was also one of the most charitable celebrities to ever step foot on the planet. He gave millions year after year. Text from Wikipedia:

“Jackson founded the Heal the World Foundation in 1992. The charity organization brought underprivileged children to Jackson’s ranch to enjoy theme park rides that Jackson had built on the property. The foundation also sent millions of dollars around the globe to help children threatened by war, poverty, and disease.”

Michael Jackson may very well be the greatest artist who ever lived. It’s awesome that we can say that about someone from our race, despite what some people may say about him. Even though his death 3 years ago was tragic and still hard to believe, we can still say that he left his mark on the world. Through his music and in our hearts, The King of Pop lives on.

Todays Questions: “What was your favorite song by MJ?” If I get 7 responses I will post my favorite song of his. ; ) much <3
